spoiled r-o-t-t-e-n

It is now abundantly clear to me why grandchildren love their grandparents so much. My dad graciously said he would watch The Mayor tonight while we went to small group for church. While at small group, I received 17 pictures on my iPhone where PopPop had caved in and given The Mayor one of his birthday presents early. Not sure "caved in" is the right phrase...The Mayor didn't know there were birthday presents and he doesn't know how to ask for gifts yet...so it is more like PopPop just wanted to spoil the little stinker. Anyway, the gift was a Thomas the Train beginner train set. You should know, The Mayor L-O-V-E-S Thomas the Train. So I was not surprised when PopPop said The Mayor sat right on the ground and didn't make a noise once he saw the box. All of the pictures have The Mayor and PopPop right beside each other playing with the trains on the track. The Mayor loves his PopPop.

When we went to pick The Mayor up, after The Mayor showed us all the cool parts to his new toy, I asked my dad if they wouldn't mind putting the pieces back in the box, wrapping it up and giving it to him at his birthday party (being that this was supposed to be his birthday present)...you know what they said? No...they would just buy him another gift. Oh man, it must be nice to have grandparents!!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. The Mayor's dinner at his house tonight was chocolate chip cookies and Nutter Butters. And in true rockstar fashion, The Mayor didn't get to bed until after 9:00. Rotten...spoiled rotten.
