busting at the seams

Oh, Christmas time...means the pants are getting a little tighter around here.  Well, to be honest, I have lost 16 pounds this past month, but today I may have put a pound or two back on.  We decided to make some fun treats with The Mayor while Love Bug napped and then we indulged in quite a few.  Ugh, my tummy still hurts.

I got the idea from another friend's blog; they were super easy and The Mayor could do just about everything involved with the treat.  We took square shaped pretzels, put a Hershey's kiss on top, baked at 170 degrees for about 6 minutes and then put an M&M on top once the kiss was soft.  We did one tray of milk chocolate kisses, peppermint flavored kisses and caramel Rolos (those we put a pecan on top).  YUM!  The Mayor unwrapped all of the milk chocolate kisses and put them on the pretzels.  He didn't even try to sneak a kiss.  But once he was done with his tray and we put it in the oven, we told him he could eat some kisses...made his day.  Pretty sure he could have finished the bag if we had let him.

Miss Love Bug was still sleeping at 5:36 so we woke her up and went out for Mexican.  I mean why not?  Just ate about dozen of the treats so why not polish off the day of eating with a Mexican meal.

Tomorrow morning we are venturing out for some Christmas shopping and then enjoying the rest of day at home.  Being at my favorite place in the world with my most favorite people in the world seems like the perfect way to spend the end of the weekend.

working hard on unwrapping the Hershey kisses and placing them on the pretzels.
