haircuts, fevers and sweet potatoes

We have been offline the past few days due to a weak internet connection. I can't wait until I read this blog 20 years from now and get a good chuckle at how a bad internet kept me from blogging. I will probably have to remind myself what the internet was because by then we will probably be surfing the web with some crazy hologram...anyway, I digress.

The Mayor got his hair cut this weekend. I decided to make the shorter hair a permanent feature. Which, if you know me, you know that was a really difficult decision. But being on the brink of The Mayor turning 3, I thought he was due to have a "big kid" haircut. The shaggy frat boy haircut has sadly been cut away...

Sunday we had a great day at church followed by a fun birthday party for one of The Mayor's best buddies Blake. The party was at one of our favorite establishments, Catch Air. The Mayor and his friends had fun running from one bouncy house to another with a little dance party sandwiched in between. After a bunch of sweaty kids ran around for over an hour, we polished off the awesome event with pizza and cake. Doesn't get better than that!

Yesterday after playgroup and a nap, The Mayor woke up with a fever of 103.4. He had no other symptoms but was clingy and puny for the rest of the afternoon and evening. So we decided not to push it and keep him out of school today. Of course, that sweet boy is totally back to normal and never had any other symptoms except the fever.

Sweet Love Bug had sweet potatoes for the first time today. Stage 1 foods, here we come! So for the next 3 days we have sweet potatoes and then start cycling through all the foods to ensure there are no allergies. She really liked the sweet potatoes. The first couple of bites brought a few cute expressions since it is a new texture and new taste, but she was literally just thrusting her tongue in and out of her mouth just waiting for the next spoonful. Adorable.

loves the sweet potatoes!

Tomorrow promises some seriously beautiful weather. Temperatures in the 80s and humidity almost non-existent. Weather that screams for some outdoor play. And that is just what we are going to do.
