happy 2011

It's a new year! And when the new year rolls around it is only natural to think about life one year ago. One year ago we were a family of 3 anxiously awaiting the arrival of our little girl to complete our family. One year later we are a family of 4 and could not be more blessed. It's crazy to think about how quickly this year has gone by and looking back on pictures, how much my children have changed. Obviously Love Bug has changed...babies change so much the first year of life. But The Mayor has really changed. One year ago he still looked like a baby and now he looks like such a big boy. His vocabulary has exploded and he is so independent. I am honored to be their mother and to have the privilege of having a front row seat to watch them grow.

We brought in the new year just the way I like. At home, in our PJs, almost asleep on the couch. We did go to a "kids are welcome" New Years Eve party but considering our children are usually asleep by 7PM, we thought we were rockstars when they lasted until 8:30. By 8:40 we were home and they were asleep. 5 minutes after that, D and I were in our PJs in the basement watching TV. We had our time (which now seems like a lifetime ago) to be out partying at midnight...it just doesn't appeal to us anymore. It makes me happiest knowing my kids are sound asleep in their beds and we are all safe and sound under one roof when the clock strikes 12.

Today was a rainy and cold 1st day of the year, so we spent the time indoors playing and organizing the 2nd playroom. The only time we ventured out was when The Mayor adamantly requested chicken for lunch so we went to Chick-fil-a. Other than that, we were indoors.

Looking forward to 2011 and the changes that will occur in our sweets and to see what this year has in store for us. Bring it on.

what was once old is now new again...broke out one of his favorite toys from when he was Love Bug's age...it entertained both of them for hours today

this. is. living.
he wanted ice cream and D told The Mayor to sit by him on the couch so he laid in his lap instead
